Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop - September 2020 Beautiful Autumn

To make this card, I started with a bunch of scraps that I found in my crafting room. Are you like me and you can't throw away those strips of cardstock leftover after you've cut your cardstock? Do you ever wonder what to do with those leftover strips of cardstock? Here's an easy project you can make to use up those scraps! It made a beautiful background for my card. The colors of those scrap strips I used informed the colors for my card. I think it turned out great! You can also see this technique on page 125 of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.

Here's the card I made for today's blog hop - because the colors of my scraps were fall colors, I decided to use the Beautiful Autumn bundle from the 2020 Fall Mini Catalog. I love this bundle because it comes with three punches that coordinate beautifully with the stamps in the stamp set. Scroll down to see the video demonstrating how I made this card.

Here is the video demonstrating how I made my project for this blog hop.

To make this card, I started with a bunch of cardstock strips that I had leftover from various projects. I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was 4 7/8" x 3 1/2". Add adhesive to the piece of Whisper White cardstock, I used Stampin' Seal Plus adhesive because it is super strong. Add the cardstock strips to the piece of Whisper White until it is covered with the cardstock strips.

I picked a cardstock base that was the same color as some of the strips of cardstock I had. I have a cardbase of Cajun Craze that is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock (5 3/8" x 4 1/8") using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. Adhere the embossed layer to the cardbase.

I cut a label from the Tasteful Labels dies using Night of Navy cardstock, another color from the scraps that I used to make the background. I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set onto Whisper White and cut it out with another label die from the Tasteful Labels dies. The Tasteful Labels dies and Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder are part of the Tasteful Touches Suite, which is amazing.

I stamped the leaf and acorn images from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set in Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive ink and punched them out using the coordinating punches. Before adhering the bigger label using dimensionals, I added a zigzag of metallic ribbon from the Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon combo pack that coordinates with the Beautiful Autumn bundle. They are all part of the Gilded Autumn Suite, which includes some fantastic Designer Series Paper, Brushed Metallic Paper and Acorn Trinkets.

I put the card together, adding the punched elements to the sentiment and tucked behind the sentiment.

I love how this card turned out! The Gilded Autumn suite is amazing and I love those punches!
