Hey there! Thanks for checking out my blog today! I've got a stunning card to show you using the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and coordinating Magnolia Morning dies. I used the partial die cutting technique and I'm so pleased with the way this card turned out! It's super easy to make this card, too.
Here's what the card looks like:
Watch the video below, on my YouTube channel, to see how easy it is to do this technique. It will work with many many of the dies that you already have! I can't wait to try this technique with some of my other dies!
For this card, start with very vanilla cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". Using the large magnolia die from the Magnolia Morning dies, position the die with the stem angled toward the bottom left corner and the leaves up to the open edge of the card. Place the die on the cutting plate such that only the farthest points of the top and bottom leaves are on the cutting plate - the rest of the card should not be on the cutting plate. Place the top plate on top and run it through your die cutting machine. Only the portion of the cardstock and die that is between the two plates will cut.
You'll need to cut down from the top and up from the bottom to where the die cut stops using your trimmer to remove the scrap from the edge of the card.
Stamp the large magnolia image on a scrap piece of very vanilla cardstock and die cut using the same large die. Color using stampin blends - I used Just Jade and Petal Pink for the leaves and flower and Crumb Cake for the stem.
Emboss a piece of Petal Pink cardstock (5 3/8" x 2 3/8") using the Scripty Embossing Folder. Attach to the card front. Attach the die cut magnolia using dimensionals. Attach a piece of Just Jade patterned paper (5 1/2" x 1 3/4") from the 2020-2022 In Color DSP pack to the right edge of the inside of the card, after stamping the small magnolia flower at the bottom of the inside of the card so that it will peek out from the patterned paper.
Stamp the sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set on a scrap piece of very vanilla cardstock and cut out using the smallest rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies (I LOVE LOVE LOVE these dies!). Attach to the card front using dimensionals.
