Hello there! It has been a while since I've posted anything and I'm super excited about the card I'm showing you today. This card uses a simple template that you can change up in so many ways. I'm showing a couple of examples here, but there are so many other things you could do with this template.
Here's the video demonstration on my YouTube channel:
And here's a picture of the card I made in the video:
For this card, I used the Painted Poppies stamp set and the coordinating Painted Labels Dies (purchase the bundle and you get 10% off! - link below). I also used the Poppy Moments Dies to cut out the flowers and leaves. This die set coordinates with the Peaceful Moments stamp set and you can get those in a bundle (10% off!), as well.
Here's an earlier version I made using the same template, but different stamps and dies.
(I apologize for the lighting on this photo - not sure what happened!) The stamps and dies used in this version were Sale-A-Bration items this year (2020) and, unfortunately, they are no longer available. You'll also notice that I used a circle die from the Stitched Shapes Dies (these carried over to the new annual catalog!), rather than the label from the Painted Labels Dies.
The stamp set I used for the sentiments in both cards is the Seriously the Best stamp set from the Spring 2020 Mini Catalog. Sadly, this stamp set didn't carry over to the new 2020-2021 annual catalog and is no longer available as of June 3, 2020. I love the big sentiments in this set. There are a few stamp sets in the new annual catalog that have large sentiments, though. I plan to make a card using this template again with one of those sets.
Directions and Dimensions:
- Card base: 1/2 sheet Lovely Lipstick cardstock (this is a 2018-2020 In Color and is no longer available as of June 3, 2020 - but, if you want a vibrant pink card base, I suggest using Melon Mambo or the new 2020-2022 In Color Magenta Madness.
- 1st layer: 5 x 3 3/4" Basic Black cardstock
- 2nd layer: 4 7/8 x 3 5/8" whisper white cardstock
- Sentiment: strip of Basic Black cardstock
- Flowers: stamped on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with dies
- Leaves: die cut with Call Me Clover yardstick (another 2018-2020 In Color retiring as of June 3, 2020)
- Inks: Lovely Lipstick, Mango Melody, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Smoky Slate, Versamark
- White embossing powder
- Punch: Banner Triple Punch
Stamp leaves from Seriously the Best stamp set on Whisper White cardstock layer using Smoky Slate ink. I stamped off onto scrap paper before stamping on the cardstock layer.
Stamp the large sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink at the bottom of the Whisper White layer. You could stamp this before or after cutting out the circle label. I stamped it after, but if you stamped it before, it might help in positioning where you will cut out the circle label. You'll want enough space in between to place the sentiment on the black strip of cardstock.
Die cut the circle label from the Painted Labels Dies from the Whisper White layer. You will glue the Whisper White layer to the Basic Black layer using liquid glue and adhere the circle label back in the negative space where it was cut from using dimensionals.
Stamp the flowers on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. First, I stamped the outline of the flowers and then I used only the splotchy stamp from the Painted Poppies stamp set for the color on the flowers. I stamped full strength in Lovely Lipstick and stamped off once for the larger flower and used the same technique using Mango Melody ink for the two smaller flowers. You could use the more solid stamp to get more color on the flower if you wanted to. Die cut the flowers.
Die cut the leaves from Call Me Clover cardstock. I didn't stamp the leaves, just cut out the shapes. You could stamp leaves and die cut them if you prefer to do so.
Stamp the other part of the sentiment on a thin strip of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark ink. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Banner cut each end.
Adhere the flowers to the edge of the Circle and the Sentiment using dimensionals. I only used dimensionals on the edge of the flowers that was not on top of the label. I used liquid glue on the part of the flowers that is adhered to the circle label.
I really love how that circle label pops with the Basic Black cardstock behind it. I like it better than the stitched circle in the other sample.
