Hi there! I hope you're having a great day. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Today, I've got an alternative card project using the September Paper Pumpkin kit. It's a super cute Halloween-themed kit. The kit contents make super cute treat boxes, but I used some of the elements in the kit to make a card. I also show you a really fun embossing technique. The video is below
First up, I made a Halloween card using the September 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit. The card has a fun, interactive element on the front.
Starting with a card base of Highland Heather (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half), I layered a strip of black cardstock on the card base. The black cardstock strip is 1 3/4" x 5 1/2". I also have a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock that is 2 1/2" x 3 3/4".
Stamp a dancing skeleton from the stamps included in the Paper Pumpkin kit on the piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock using Pumpkin Pie ink.
Cut a rectangle from one of the treat boxes in the Paper Pumpkin kit. The rectangle should be two of the center squares of the box, including the score line. Adhere the rectangle to the Pumpkin Pie piece so that the square is folded over the top of the Pumpkin Pie piece and will open up.
Adhere web die cut from Paper Pumpkin kit on the Pumpkin Pie layer so that it peeks out from the folded piece. Tie bow using black ribbon around bottom of Pumpkin Pie layer. Adhere layer to card front.
Stamp sentiment on punched out piece from Paper Pumpkin kit using Gorgeous Grape ink. Stamp skull and crossbones over sentiment using Pumpkin Pie ink, stamped off once.
Super easy and cute Halloween card! There are so many fun elements in the Paper Pumpkin kit! The spider web die cuts are so cute!
Next, I made a fall card using the Gather Together bundle to show a fun technique with the dies. The bundle includes dies that emboss and cut out leaves. I show a technique that just adds some fun dimension to those leaves.
Starting with a Grapefruit Grove card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2") and a layer of Grapefruit Grove cardstock (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") that is embossed using the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder. That layer is adhered to the card front.
Stamp wheat stocks and "dots background" from Gather Together stamp set on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock (2 5/8" x 3 1/2") using Sahara Sand (for wheat stocks), Grapefruit Grove and Pool Party ink. You will layer on top of this so don't worry too much about the middle part.
Stamp pumpkins from stamp set using Cajun Craze ink on scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Color using Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie blends. (I also used Crumb Cake blends for the stems). Cut out using matching dies.
Fold two baby wipes to make a "pad" for your leaf dies. Drop some Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie ink drops from the reinkers onto the baby wipes. Drop the leaf dies onto the inked baby wipe and press down to get ink onto the part of the die that embosses. Carefully place the leaf dies onto piece of Sahara Sand cardstock. Cut out. Look how beautiful the ink on the dies makes those leaves! It just gives them some additional color and texture. I love this technique!
Stamp sentiment on strip of Sahara Sand with Cajun Craze ink. Banner cut end. Adhere pumpkins, sentiment strip and leaves onto stamped Very Vanilla layer. Adhere layer onto Pool Party layer and adhere the whole layer onto the card base. Spritz with Grapefruit Grove marker.
The baby wipe technique is such a fun technique! I can't wait to try it with some other dies to see what I come up with!
